I have been busy re-vamping the LinuxGlobe Site and I am moving it to a NEW location and all of my OLD

Podcasts!!!

I have not been able to find other Writers to join me for a potential LINUX Magazine but I will continue to
BLOG about LINUX esp. since I will be using Fedora 11 as my MAIN OS!!!

It is late February, heading into March, and it took me a few weeks before I had to nerve to write about Linux news again…

Fedora 11 is developing as I write this, the ALPHA can be downloaded at
http://torrent.fedoraproject.org.  

openSUSE 11.1 is catching up to Ubuntu and that can be downloaded at
http://software.opensuse.org.

Windoze 7 will be released this year, call it Vista 2.0.  If you were a Windoze User who dabbles in Linux, try Sun’s VirtualBox so you can enjoy Linux on your Windoze computer.

Debian 5 codenamed “Lenny” is available for downloading at http://www.debian.org.

The One Laptop Per Child project is a noble effort and should be applauded for envisioning inexpensive computers for children all over the world! That goal will be reached but with the global recession, it will be a few more years before more computers can be in the hands of children. The netbooks which were an after thought are becoming popular and I will purchase one so I have Fedora Linux as my main OS. I encourage everyone to help the OLPC project and purchase an XO laptop!

God Forbid that Microsoft will give away Windows 7 or later for FREE and just make more money on MS Office, etc! That would be a WISE decision for them to make!  To give away Windows but make money off of Office instead. This will never happen BECAUSE they are a greedy company who doesn’t care about the average computer user. They have been dominant for far too long, it’s time for Linux to step up and be known!  It continues to innovate and inspire not just Governments, Companies, Universities, and Schools; but folks who want to learn how to use their computer to write, draw, present, communicate, or play a game of Quake Wars on their free time. If you really want to save money, invest in a wifi compatible netbook that can run LINUX! Go to my Linux Blog on how to get your own copy of the three major Linux Distros… Just some sound advice during hard economic times…

I want to encourage ANYONE who comes across this blog to write an article on anything that is LINUX related so I can put your words on this site!  I ask this because I want to publish a Print Magazine about LINUX and I can’t do this alone.  So please contribute something, be it text, audio, or video, so we can ALL share in the love of LINUX, thanks…

I read that Windoze 7 could DEFEAT Linux’s efforts on netbooks…

Mac OS X will continue to thrive despite the threat from Windoze 7.

However. I am very worried that LINUX will NOT be adopted because
of Windoze 7’s popularity.  Win 7 will be the true replacement for
Windoze XP.  What can WE the Linux Lover do to prevent Win 7
from totally taking over?  One, promote LINUX on every mainstream
web site; Two, mention LINUX to your co-workers or classmates;
and Three, show what LINUX can do for your organization!

Windoze 7 could spell DOOM for Linux, let’s try to fight back!

I am just now reading up on the recent FUDcon in Boston, there was a lot to be said about Fedora 11 and inklings into Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 as well.  I will update this post later in the week…
